Liverpool have reportedly decided to keep Loris Karius as their first-choice goalkeeper for the beginning of next season.
Karius has been subjected to harsh criticism after he gifted Real Madrid with two goals during the final of the Champions League in late May. Madrid went on to win the game 3-1 and claimed their third successive Champions League title.
The Reds have reportedly considered swooping for Jan Oblak of Atletico Madrid and Alisson of Roma, however they are said to be put off as both clubs are demanding more than £80 million for their respective goalies.
Alisson has also been linked with big-money moves to Chelsea and Real Madrid and it will be very surprising if he remains at Roma for the start of next season.
While the Reds have been linked with a number of other goalkeepers including the English duo of Jack Butland and Nick Pope as well as Jasper Cillessen, Kaspar Schmeichel, Jiri Pavlenka and Thomas Strakosha, it has been reported that not one of Klopp’s targets is available.
Karius is expected to play in goal when Liverpool take on Chester on Saturday in a pre-season friendly.
