Manchester United keen to sign Julian Draxler

Julian Draxler has been linked with a move to Italy this summer. Earlier in the window it seemed like Juventus were well advanced in negotiations for the talented German, but the Italians have failed to seal the deal yet.

It appears that Manchester United might be interested in the player now. After missing out on former Barcelona attacker, Pedro, Van Gaal is keen to sign another attacking midfielder.

The Dutchman claimed earlier this week that his side lacks creativity and he is working towards a solution.

Julian Draxler is one of the most highly rated talents in world football and could develop into a world class player under the right coaching.

The German midfielder has struggled with injuries over the last year and is now ready to take the next step in his career and perform at the top level consistently. Arsenal were linked with a move for Draxler last season, but his injury issues scuppered the deal.

Wenger remains a keen admirer of the Schalke star but it seems Van Gaal is the one ready to make a move.

It will be interesting to see if United follow up on their interest. Given the resources and the stature, the Old Trafford outfit definitely have it in them to beat Juventus to the signing of Draxler, regardless of the the Italian outfit’s recent success.
