Fiorentina have told Manchester United and Barcelona to pay €50m if they hope to sign star Juan Cuadrado in this summer transfer window.
The Colombian international had an impressive World Cup with his national side. Earlier we reported that the Red Devils and the Catalan club are interested in signing the player and have stepped their interest.
Barcelona value him to be around €35m, while the Old Trafford outfit are willing to pay €42m in signing Cuadrado. However, Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade has admitted that the player could leave if a massive offer is made available. But he is hopeful the 26-year-old continue in Serie A next season.
“It would be really difficult refusing a €50 millions euros offer. Let’s wait, and let’s see what will happen,” Prade told Sky Sport Italia.
“We hope he remains with us. We have never had official offers for him. We talk frequently with him and his agent. On August 4th or 5th he will be back in Italy and then, we will talk.”
Cuadrado joined Fiorentina from Udinese in 2012 and despite his move to Viola, his former club were still holding the player’s rights. However, last month, Fiorentina purchased the full ownership of the World Cup star and any potential sale of the player will see them bag the whole amount.
Meanwhile, according to reports in Italy, Gazzetta dello Sport says Barcelona have urged Cuadrado to force a move to leave his current employers in this window. Should this happen, it would be blow for United, who are also interested in signing him.
