Manchester United: Anderson bid confirmed, £250k-a-week Zlatan offer

Nov 29, 2024 5:38 AM

Lazio midfielder Felipe Anderson was linked with a move to Manchester United all summer.

The Brazilian has now confirmed that Manchester United did submit an official bid for him but Lazio chose to keep him for the season.

He said: “An offer came in last year from Manchester United. Lazio have confirmed this and preferred to keep me to have a great season.”

The tricky midfielder has impressed with the Italian outfit over the last two seasons and is a target for several European clubs. Manchester United were desperate to land him last summer due to the lack of creativity and pace in their side.

Anderson could well be a target for United once again at the end of this season. However, Van Gaal is expected to leave and then it will come down to the new manager. Mourinho has been tipped to take over from the Dutchman and might opt for someone else.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are also eyeing up a big money move for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Swedish superstar is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season and has been linked with a move to the Premier League.

The likes of Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in the 34-year-old’s services as well.

It is understood that Manchester United are willing to beat their rivals for the striker by offering him a stunning 2-year contract worth around 24 million pounds.

Manchester United need a reliable goalscorer next season and despite his age, Zlatan is still world class and would provide them with much-needed sharpness in front of goal. Plus, Mourinho is also an admirer of the Swedish international and might force a move.
