Manchester United duo, Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay, are set to leave the club when the January transfer window reopens.
The duo cost Manchester United£51.3 million under Louis van Gaal and have struggled to hold down a regular first team place under José Mourinho. The Portuguese manager has used Martial as his left winger instead of Depay, and he also prefers Herrera in the central midfield ahead of Schneiderlin.
According to latest reports, both players are on the brink of joining Ronald Koeman at Everton. The Dutch manager has worked with Schneiderlin at Southampton and has a good relationship with the player. He is also well aware of Depay’s qualities and rates the former PSV star highly. Earlier this month, Koeman confirmed that Depay is a very good player, and he needs to play regularly.
It is evident that the Manchester United duo have been promised plenty of game time at Goodison Park. Manchester Evening News have revealed that Everton are set to complete a double deal, and both players are ready to complete a permanent move.
It will be interesting to see if Mourinho decides to splash the cash on new players once the departures are finalised. Manchester United are looking to sign a defender if recent reports are to believed. They will do well to sign another quality central-midfielder.
