Manchester United are expected to complete the signing of Brazilian midfielder Felipe Anderson from Lazio this month.

The Brazilian midfielder has been the talk of the town after an impressive season in Serie A last year.

Earlier this season, manager Louis Van Gaal claimed that his side is need of creativity and goals. Going by his claims, a bid for Anderson certainly makes sense. The Brazilian is a technically gifted attacking midfielder with an abundance of flair and intelligence.

The Lazio midfielder is equally good at scoring goals as well as carving out chances for his teammates. His agility, flair and link up play has turned him into one of the most exciting young midfielders in Italy.

Anderson can operate in a number of positions and is very good on the ball – qualities that are very important for Louis Van Gaal. United can definitely use another attacking midfielder to take some pressure off Juan Mata and Memphis Depay.

According to recent reports, Manchester United are set to follow up on their interest with a concrete offer and a bid is imminent. The report also states that Lazio are ready to sell the player for the right price.

Earlier today Guardian journalist Ed Aarons also confirmed (via Metro) that Anderson’s agent is in England and has met with Manchester United representatives.
