Manchester United target Kevin Strootman is set to extend his stay at Roma beyond the summer despite long term interest from Premier League giants Manchester Unitedaccording to reports.
Strootman’s agent Fabio Parisi has claimed that his client will remain in Italy and is happy with Rudi Garcia’s side.
Parisi was quoted by La Roma 24, “Nothing is true, he’s good in the capital.”
Manchester United have been keen on the 24 year old when chief scout Jim Lawlor kept tabs on Strootman at the European Under 21 Championships in Israel. But it was Italian side who Roma snapped up the player from PSV Eindhoven for £15m.
However it hasn’t deterred the Reds Devils from pursuing the Dutchman and with Louis Van Gaal set to take up the reins at Old Trafford, Strootman has once again been hinted with a move to Manchester in the summer.
Strootman has featured in 25 appearances for the Giallorossi this season scoring 5 goals and grabbing 6 assists before beingruled out of the World Cup thanks to a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during Roma’s 1-0 defeat to Napoli in March earlier this season.
