Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has hit back at claims that he spitted on Argentine striker Sergio Aguero in Sunday’s Manchester Derby. Fellaini was lucky not to give away a penalty when he tripped Aguero in the penalty box. The Belgian the City star a piece of his mind and in the process replays showed he might have ‘spit’ on Aguero.
The story spread through wildfire in major English tabloids and media outlets alike but Fellaini tweeted saying the stories were made up. “The press concocts like stories where there are none. Thank you to the journalist.” Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal also denied any such claims and defended the 26 year old.
Surely Fellaini wouldn’t want any distractions in what has been a resurgence in the past few weeks of his Manchester United career. After having a disastrous last season under David Moyes, the Belgian midfielder has grown into confidence in the last three games. He scored United’s equalizer in the 2-2 draw against West Brom before coming up with a brilliant display against League leaders Chelsea.
