Manchester United have submitted an audacious £60m bid for Bayern Munich attacker, Thomas Muller.
According to SportBild, Van Gaal wants to make a statement signing this summer and is keen to sign the World Cup winner.
SportBild: Manchester United submit £60m bid for Thomas Muller
Earlier this month, Bayern executive Rummenigge confirmed Manchester United’s interest in the German and claimed that Van Gaal is a stubborn person, but the German is not for sale.
However it seems that Van Gaal cares little about what Rummenigge had to say. Although Bayern have no intentions to sell, a £60m bid has to be considered unless the player is Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.
Muller is a world class player and has proven himself at every stage. However, one has to admit that £60m is perhaps a fair price for the coveted German.
The player has previously claimed that he wishes to finish his career with Bayern and is not willing to leave. However, the chance to play for Manchester United in the Premier League is hard to turn down.
After Schweinsteiger’s move to Manchester United, the German star claimed that it is hard to turn down such an opportunity. It will be interesting to see if Muller feels the same way about United’s offer.
Elsewhere, Manchester City have reached an agreement for United target Otamendi and Chelsea have made a dramatic late swoop for Pedro.
