Manchester United are once again linked with Everton left-back Leighton Baines as per reports. Well, I guess, you all have got fed up with his constant churning of same story, just as we are.
Seriously, how many time Baines was linked with a move to United since the end of last season (not to mentioned Ferguson era) The equation is simple – Manchester United are in need of a left-back and probably are searching for a long replacement of Patrice Evra. Baines was their long term target, plus the David Moyes connection, hence it does not need any rocket science to understand such links.
The report from Daily Star says, Manchester United “are poised” to return for Baines (they tried for him in the summer), when the transfer window re-opens and speculates the England left-back has probably played his last game for the club, as he has fractured a toe on his right foot against Liverpool and has been ruled out for up to six weeks.
Over to Merseyside and Liverpool are interested in signing Atletico Madrid star Arda Turan according to reports from Turkish Football News.
The 26-year-old has a release clause of €40m and as per the report Manchester United are also interested in his services. Turan is a self proclaimed Liverpool fan and back in 2010, he said:
“As I always mention, Liverpool attracts me because of their tradition. In Europe, I am a Liverpool supporter, so if I go to play in Europe, I would like to play for them.”
The Turkish superstar wants to experience Premier League football as per his agent and in that situation, Liverpool could have the advantage in luring him, should he chose to move in January or next summer.
