It’s no surprise that every Dutch player who performed well in the World Cup in Brazil is keen to reunite with Louis Van Gaal at Manchester United. Reports from the trusted and reliable English tabloid Guardian claim that Ajax star Daley Blind has expressed his interest to join the Red Devils should a substantial bid is tabled by the Red Devils.
Blind claimed, “I am happy here in Amsterdam. But if there comes another club I will have to think about it and then we will see. I will think about my options. For now I will focus on Ajax and we will see what happens next week.”
The 24 year old versatile youngster can either play as a left back or also as a central defensive midfielder would seamlessly fit into Van Gaal’s 3-5-2 setup at Old Trafford.
Ajax manager Frank De Boer however wants to keep Blind for one more season but admitted that it would be impossible to resist an enticing bid for the player.
“If a club comes along with a lot of money it is almost impossible to say no. But we won’t let him go for free that is for sure. It is important for the player and the club that there is no tension or that it happens at the last minute.”
We had reported earlier that Blind was could have been on his way to Barcelona but now that the Catalan club have signed Thomas Vermaelen from Arsenal, United would find their path easier to land youngster just before the transfer window slams shut.
