Manchester United will complete the signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer this week.
The Swedish striker’s current Paris Saint-Germain deal expires on Thursday and he will sign for Jose Mourinho’s side the day after.
A deal for the Ligue 1 star was agreed weeks ago, but Ibrahimovic chose to delay the move because of a loyalty bonus from the French club if he does not join another club before his contract runs out.
With his deal expiring on Thursday, Ibrahimovic will now pocket the loyalty bonus and sign for Manchester United.
The world class striker has been linked with a move to China, US and Italy this summer. However, it seems that he wants a reunion with his former manager Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese coach has already spent a lot of money on Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan (although the move is not official yet) and will be delighted to sign Zlatan on a free transfer. The 34 year old scored 50 goals for the French champions last season and would be a world class addition to the Manchester United attack.
The Swedish forward will sign a one year deal at Old Trafford.
Ibrahimovic won his 13th league championship in the last 15 seasons with PSG and will look to win the Premier League next season after tasting success in Holland, Spain, Italy and France.
