Manchester United to look at £35m midfield superstar

Manchester United to look at £35m midfield superstar

Sep 22, 2024 10:20 PM

Manchester United boss David Moyes recently traveled to Italy to watch Juventus in action against Cagliari and it was thought that his real intentions were something else. English media reported that Moyes spoke with Juventus hierarchies over a possible move for midfielders Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba.

Juventus are reluctant to sell either of the players and now a new name has been linked with the Premier League Champions.

HamsikHamsik

The Italian media reports that Manchester United are targeting Slovakian midfielder Marek Hamsik with a view to a transfer in January or next summer.

Hamsik has had a great campaign last season, where he bagged 18 assists and scored 11 goals. This season he has managed six goals thus far, while has not played since November through injury.

Former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez spoke highly of Hamsik claiming if Gareth Bale deserves 100m, then the Slovakian would be priceless and even rates him slightly higher than Reds skipper Steven Gerrard.

The report says United boss Moyes is personally planning to scout the midfielder. Hamsik would improve any football team in the world, as he is a terrific player, but the question is – do Manchester United actually need a player like him

He is an attacking midfielder whose natural position is the no 10 role, behind the striker. United already have Wayne Rooney and Shinji Kagawa in that position, while young Adnan Januzaj can also play in that role as well. So, from Manchester United’s point of view move for him doesn’t make enough sense at the moment.
