A couple of days ago we had reported that Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal has lined up Porto right back Danilo as a replacement for Rafael in the coming summer. Today’s report from Italian media outlet TMW however have claimed that Real Madrid have contacted the Brazilian’s entourage for a possible move to the Spanish capital.
Danilo is one the hottest young prospects in the world currently and European giants including Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Roma and PSG are also interested in the player. TMW have cited Spanish media outlet AS claiming that Danilo’s representatives have already been approached by Madrid and talks could soon begin for a summer move to the Bernabeu.
Danilo however has contract with Porto till 2016 and TMW report that his release clause is set at €50m. Should Real snap up the player, it will be a body blow for United. Van Gaal had already earmarked Danilo as his first choice right back.
The Red Devils would thus prefer a tried and tested right back with enough experience. However the recent developments could certainly mean that the Old Trafford side will have to look elsewhere to sign a player of Danilo’s potential.
