Bayern Munich midfielder and Manchester United target Toni Kroos has requested his club to let him join Real Madrid, as he refuses to sign a new contract extension.
Manchester United were heavily interested in Kroos, if the reports are to be believed, with the player himself hinted that a move to the Premier League could be a possibility for him.
Kroos, is valued around €40m, has less than a year remaining on his contract. According to Spanish newspaper El Confidencial, the German midfielder is reluctant to sign a new contract with Bayern and instead has been putting pressure on the club to let him join Real Madrid, one of his potential suitors.
Madrid are in need of a midfielder, just like they need a number nine as well. While Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba are prime targets, they would cost a lot of money and hence the target has been shifted towards Kroos, who as per the newspaper, resembles similar qualities like Xabi Alonso.
Kroos wants to solve his future before the World Cup, and his agent Volker Struth has been working hard to find an agreement with Bayern for an ideal offer. Khedira, whose contract will expire within next year, is in no hurry to renew it, leaving further speculation on his future as well.
