Wolfsburg midfielder, Julian Draxler, is set to leave the German outfit in January.
The 23-year-old attacking midfielder was linked with a move to Arsenal during the summer, but the move never quite materialised. However, it seems that Wolfsburg are ready to let the player leave now, after falling out with him.
As per the latest report, Arsenal star Mesut Özil has asked the Gunners to sign Draxler in January. There is no doubt that Draxler has the ability to develop into a world-class player in the future, and signing him for the right money would be a fantastic coup for the Premier League giants.
However, his arrival could be damaging for the likes of Iwobi, Walcott, or Chamberlain. Draxler is better than all three and operates in a similar role. Having said that, if Arsenal do sign him, it will be a major boost for them as a club. Draxler would definitely improve the Gunners going forward.
It will be interesting to see if Wenger takes Özil’s suggestion and makes a move for the Wolfsburg midfielder when the window opens in a few weeks. Furthermore, considering the situation with Alexis Sánchez, signing Draxler could prove to be beneficial in the long run, as well. The Chilean is demanding a lot of money, and if an agreement is not reached, he could leave the club in the near future. In that case, Draxler could be an able replacement.
