Nathan Ake returns to Chelsea from Bournemouth loan

Nathan Ake returns to Chelsea from Bournemouth loan

Oct 11, 2024 7:17 PM

Chelsea defender Nathan Ake has returned to the club after his loan spell at Bournemouth was cut short.

The 21-year-old Dutch defender joined Bournemouth on loan for the whole of this season, but Conte was keen on adding more defensive options to his squad and has therefore decided to recall Ake early.

Bournemouth have confirmed the deal on their Twitter account.

Earlier this week, Eddie Howe claimed that the recall seems likely and that it would be a huge blow for the Cherries. Ake has been fantastic for Bournemouth so far and his departure is indeed a major setback for Eddie Howe’s men.

Ake’s return could benefit Chelsea instantly; especially after John Terry‘s sending off against Peterborough. The Dutchman is eligible for Chelsea in the FA Cup as he did not feature in the competition for Bournemouth.

Conte also confirmed the deal and claimed that Ake has earned the right to play for Chelsea and deserves to stay in a great team.

Conte said: “He’s showing he deserves to stay in a great team like Chelsea. He gives me important options”.

Ake has scored 3 goals in his 12 appearances for Bournemouth so far this season including a last-minute winner against Liverpool in December.
