According to The Telegraph, Petr Cech could join the likes of Arsenal or Manchester United this summer.
The Chelsea legend has been starved of game time at the Bridge this season. Courtois’ exploits in the goal has meant that Mourinho has had to bench the Czech keeper for most parts of the season.
Frustrated with the lack of game time, Cech is open to a move and would consider rivals United and Arsenal. According to his agent, Mourinho has no say on the matter and that his client has a mutual agreement with club owner, Roman Abramovich, who promised to let Cech join another Premier League club this summer.
“Arsenal, United or PSG are all top clubs,” Kolar said. “And Petr would like to join one of them, definitely. Petr expects that [Chelsea owner Roman] Abramovich, not Mourinho will decide about his future, based on their mutual agreement from last year.”
Earlier Mourinho stated that if it was upto him, Cech would never join a rival club.
“If it’s in my hands he would never go, would never go to big clubs with fantastic teams,” Mourinho said. “Big candidates to win the Premier League I would never let him go.
Following the comments from Mourinho and Kolar, there might be some substance to the reports that Cech’s transfer is beyond Jose’ control and that Roman has given the nod for Cech to join any club he wishes.
With the likes of De Gea and Szczesny linked with moves to Real Madrid and Southampton respectively, Cech would be a fantastic acquisition for both Manchester United and Arsenal.
The Czech international would bring loads of experience and world class quality into the club he joins and become the mainstay of their defence for the next few years.
