The Southampton midfielder has been linked with Liverpool over the past month and it now appears that the 26 year old has set his heart on joining the Merseyside giants. Earlier the Reds were reported to be encouraged by the fact that Lallana was already seeking his way out for the south coast club.
We reported earlier today that Lallana has told Southampton that he wants to leave the club in summer, after returning from the World Cup in Brazil.
Well, Liverpool fans, Lallana allegedly might have said “hope so” when he was asked whether he would join Liverpool, but let’s not get over-excited about it.
Liverpool fans have seen this before. Hopes inflated, hopes dashed. Remember Henrikh Mkhitaryan The Armenian footballer who was so close to joining Liverpool last summer, only to find Borussia Dortmund hijacking the deal in the end. And, he also signed a Liverpool jersey prior to his move to Dortmund.
Still, it is an encouraging news for Liverpool fans. The problem is Southampton are demanding way too much for him, in the region of £30m, more than Liverpool’s valuation of the player.
