Croatian defender Dejan Lovren has completed his £20m move to Liverpool, with the 25-year-old signing a four-year deal on Sunday to become the club’s fifth summer signing.

Lovren joins former teammates Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert in moving to Anfield this summer, with manager Brendan Rodgers exceedingly glad to have got his man after a long negotiation process.

“He is a commanding and powerful presence and clearly has leadership skills, which is important – he fits the profile of player we are looking for,” Rodgers told Liverpool’s official website,

“He is still relatively young, so his peak years are ahead of him and I believe he will improve and progress even further with us.”
