Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is likely to go with a strong line-up for his side’s clash against Fiorentina in the Europa League tomorrow night at White Hart Lane.
Spurs face a stern test from the Serie A club, who sit fourth in Serie A, as they look to advance to the last 16 of the competition.
Despite an unfortunate late defeat to Liverpool, Tottenham are in good form recently with them only four points off third place in the Premier League. And with Pochettino’s men having a rare break following the FA Cup weekend, it means the former Saints boss is less likely to feel the need to rotate his team having had the extended break.
Spurs play West Ham on Sunday at home as they look to maintain their Champions League challenge with a squad that has started to click in recent weeks – with Pochettino’s methods starting to be absorbed by his players.
But thoughts of the league will be put to one side as the North Londoners embark on bringing a European trophy to White Hart Lane for the first time since 1984.
Playmaker Christian Eriksen says he is relishing the match, which he feels will be a “great” contest.
“It’s a great tie, a really tough game,” he told the club’s website. “Fiorentina are doing well in Italy and they are a strong team.
“It’s always exciting in the knockout stage and it’s win or lose now – nothing in between. Everyone wants to go through and hopefully we’ll achieve that.
“A number of teams have come down from the Champions League as well now and if you manage to win the competition you get a Champions League place, so everyone wants to do well.”
