STRATFORD 1.45

RAFFLES GITANE (system – Harry Whittington, young French-bred chasers)

Harry Whittington has a great record with his young (aged four to six) French-bred chasers, scoring with 18 of the 47 qualifiers (38.3% strike-rate) for a profit of £25.26 to a £1 level stake at SP. RAFFLES GITANE contributed with a 7-1 Huntingdon success at the end of January and could have more to offer now returned to a left-handed track (she has jumped out to her right on occasions).

PLUMPTON 2.10

BLAME THE GAME (system – Chris Gordon hurdlers in first-time cheekpieces)

Chris Gordon has an eight from 44 record with hurdlers in first-time cheekpieces (18.2% strike-rate) and backing them blind would have returned a profit of £45.25 to a £1 level stake at SP. Nine of those raced over fences on their latest start, with two winning at big prices (25-1 and 16-1). BLAME THE GAME was pulled up in a novices’ handicap chase at Market Rasen last time but could be worth chancing now returned to hurdles. He disappointed when favourite for this race last year but is 13lb lower this time around and is 3lb below his last winning mark.

WOLVERHAMPTON 5.30

RED EVELYN (system – sire Garswood, 4yos)

Progeny of the sire Garswood take time to come to hand and backing all the four-year-old representatives would have found 35 winners from 194 bets (18% strike-rate) for a huge profit of £121.03. RED EVELYN’s only previous visit to Wolverhampton saw her finish second by a neck and the first-time visor could eke out some improvement.
