RORY blew the start from the worst of the draw when only fourth of seven in another course and distance handicap 48 hours ago and can bounce back today. He looks like encountering the required strong pace, despite the small field, is well drawn in stall 5 or 6, and it will be surprising if he isn’t in the first two. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

Mark Johnston has a poor record with first-time blinkers, scoring with just eight of the 159 qualifiers since 2014 (5% strike-rate) for a loss of £105.80 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 17). SATANIC MOON was an early mover (7-2 from 11-2) for this 1m6f handicap but I’m not convinced that the headgear will have a positive effect on this obviously quirky customer. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.
