Rangers are looking to sign the Bordeaux striker Josh Maja as a replacement for Alfredo Morelos.
As per Football Insider, Rangers director Ross Wilson is keeping tabs on the striker.
Morelos has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of this season and Rangers will have to find a proper replacement.
Maja is highly rated across Europe and he has done very well for Bordeaux this season.
The 21-year-old has scored eight goals for the French side so far, despite making just eight starts in all competitions.
Bordeaux paid around £1.5m for the player and they will look to make a considerable profit if they are forced to sell Maja this summer.
Furthermore, the player reportedly earns around £57,000-a-week and that could complicate matters for Rangers.
The player might have to accept a pay-cut in order for the move to happen.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the coming weeks.
Rangers must look to sort out Morelos’ replacement before selling him and Maja would undoubtedly be a good long term investment for them.
However, the financial side of the transfer might not be realistic for Rangers. Unless they match Maja’s wages at Bordeaux, they might find it difficult to convince the player.
