Bayern Munich striker Roberto Lewandowski has been linked with a move away from Allianz Arena this summer.
Recently, the player and his agent both confirmed that they have been speaking to Real Madrid regarding a transfer and that Bayern Munich are aware of it.
According to Spanish publication AS, Real Madrid have reached a private agreement with Robert Lewandowski and now need to agree a fee with the German champions.
The report adds that Real Madrid director José Ángel Sánchez met Lewandowski’s agent, Cezary Kucharski, when he was last in the Spanish capital during Bayern Munich’s Champions League semi final against Atletico Madrid earlier this season.
AS claim that Lewandowski is trying to force a move because of issues regarding his wages at Bayern Munich.
The German side are in no rush to renew Lewandowski’s current contract as it doesn’t end until 2019. Furthermore, Lewandowski is requesting an annual salary of €20 million.
It will be interesting to see if Bayern are willing to agree a fee for their best striker this summer. If the player continues to push for a move, the only options for Bayern are to keep him against his wishes or allow him to leave against their wishes.
Lewandowski has scored 42 goals in 51 games for Bayern Munich this season.
