Real Madrid looks to stay close in the La Liga title race as they host Villarreal on Sunday.

Both teams played in Europe during the week with varying results. Villarreal drew in the Europe League against Wolfsburg (2-2) while Real Madrid lost at Lyon (0-1) in the Champions League. Real Madrid have close the gap to just two points behind FC Barcelona and Villarreal are in the middle of the table.

Madrid have been dominant in La Liga at home with a 11-0-0 record and +29 goal difference. Gonzalo Higuain (12 goals) and Cristiano Ronaldo (11 goals) lead Real in scoring. Villarreal has scored 20 less goals in La Liga and conceded more than twice as many goals as Madrid.

Real Madrid are the clear favorites and anything less than a win will be a disappointment. Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, and Benzema will give the Villarreal defense trouble throughout the night. The only real question is by how much will Madrid win by.  Villarreal have only one road win in La Liga but were able to hold Barcelona to a draw at the Camp Nou.
