Relegation Watch: Tottenham, West Ham, Manchester City, Newcastle and Sunderland all struggling

Oct 20, 2024 7:33 PM

Who the hell is Ricky Sbragia

Crazy name, great manager apparently. I ask the question because, as a Spurs fan, I’m not happy. A couple of weeks ago we were flying up the table like a Christmas angel on eggnog and now this Sbragia fella turns up and Sunderland have leapfrogged us.

The problem is, what with Big Sam at the Rovers and the silver fox at St James, it’s all a bit squeaky bum time again. If it weren’t for little Gianfranco, we’d be in big trouble. Why can’t the little clubs just roll over like good chaps and let the likes of Tottenham glide serenely away from the unseemly melee that is the bottom three

The next thing you know, the bloody Baggies will be winning again…

Hand on heart, I haven’t got a clue who’s going down anymore. At the moment, I think it depends what day of the week it is.

I honestly don’t believe the transfer window is going to make a damn difference. The way this season has panned out so far, anything could happen and probably will. At this rate, the Hammers will sack Zola in March and go on a 10-match winning run and qualify for the Uefa Cup. Spurs, meanwhile, will poach Ramos from Real Madrid and lift the Carling Cup.

One thing, however, is for certain. Mark Hughes will be spending more time in his garden before the end of the season…
