United will travel to Etihad to face potential title challengers Manchester City on Sunday, and despite the fact, that the two Manchester sides are the best sides in the country for the last two seasons, Rooney feels clashes with old adversaries Liverpool mean more to the players than with local derby.

The maverick star of United said to Daily Mirror:

“They’re all big games. Obviously United and Liverpool has been a massive game over the years,”

“City have had their success recently, but I would probably say that United and Liverpool is still the biggest game.”

Although Manchester Derby didn’t have the requisite spice and glamour like the Liverpool fixture, but in recent years, it has got paramount significance as City have established themselves as a major power house of England.

The Citizens dramatically snatched the Premier title from the clutches of United, two seasons back, when Sergio Aguero scored the winner in the injury time.

In terms of title race, the fixture holds tremendous importance and Rooney knows that too. Is it a ploy to stir things up ahead of the big clash
