Sam Allardyce Raises His Hand For The Sunderland Job

Oct 1, 2024 12:14 AM

The much respected Sam Allardyce has acknowledged that he would be eager to become the new manager of the Premier League club Sunderland.

Big Sam has been quoted as saying that he would love to coach Sundaerland as they are a big club. He said:

”Sunderland are a great club so of course I’d be interested in talking to them. I have huge respect for the chairman Niall Quinn and the job he has done.’ I enjoyed the year I had at Sunderland and also when I did some coaching work there under Peter Reid. I also know how passionate the fans are about their team.”

Sunderland and Roy Keane parted company last week after the Black Cats lost six of their seven matches, slipping to 18th in the Premier League table. Sunderland have yet to announce any replacement but it appears that Sam Allardyce would like to jump in.

Big Sam last managed a club 10 months ago and that club was Newcastle United, Sunderland’s archrivals. Big Sam has earned a reputation of moulding small clubs into very competitive sides and maybe Sunderland could do well with him if they are keen to play in the Premier League next season too.
