Some Aston Villa fans react to Mile Jedinak exit rumours

Oct 3, 2024 11:27 PM

Aston Villa are going through a financial crisis at the moment and the club are in a position where they will be forced to sell some of their key players.

One of them is Mile Jedinak who is reportedly heading for the exit door at Villa Park. According to reports from Australian news outlet The World Game, Jedinak is set to leave the Midland club in the summer.

Steve Bruce, the Villa manager, has been told that he can’t even sign players on loan unless the club ship out high earners and valuable assets. And even then, the club cannot assure him about funds to bring in players for free.

The report claims that the 33-year-old has agreed to a deal to leave Villa. The Australia international, who has 79 caps to his name, now looks likely to depart from Villa Park to join an unnamed club.

Jedinak, who earns £50,000-a-week at Villa, as reported by Fox Sports, joined the Championship club in 2016 from Crystal Palace and played a key role for Steve Bruce’s side last season.

Aston Villa fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to express their reaction, and and many of them believe that the club has taken the right decision.

Great news for us as it gives hope that bjarnsson might stay

That’s a shame. No doubt on high wages with us so another step to sorting out FFP

Let’s hope we got a fee as we seem to lose money on transfers

Agreed, if we could land £3mill@or thereabouts transfer fee too it would be nice though. Every penny counts. Need a centre half to replace him and Terry though. More and more I believe keeping Chester is vital for us

Love Mile, absolute warrior. Our results are better when he plays but he’s 34 and on £45k pw I believe. In our position, getting him out is a good move. #avfc

Ultimately letting Jedinak go is the right call. Wages + age ≠ proficiency. Sad but true.

I like Jedinak but Bjarnason has more attack in him. Be good to see him starting more. #AVFC #UTV
