Arsenal will be playing Liverpool in the league clash after the international break and three players return from injury to give the Gunners a massive boost to end the season on high.
The midfielder duo of Jack Wilshere and Mikel Arteta, along with defender Mathieu Debuchy were sidelined with injuries are all fit and will return to the training, according to the Daily Mirror.
Wilshere underwent an ankle surgery after picking up an injury during 2-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester United last November. The former Everton man was also sidelined since last year.
Debuchy dislocated his shoulder after returning from injury in January and has spent more time on the treatment table since making a switch to the Emirates from Newcastle United last summer.
The trio, Wilshere, Arteta and Debuchy have all regained full fitness and are close to rejoining Arsenal’s first team.
With the return of Wilshere, Arteta and Debuchy, it will be a massive boost for Arsenal and Arsene Wenger as the Emirates club are in the race to finish the season in top four with just eight games remaining in this campaign.
The Premier League winners Manchester City are second with 61 points, leading third place Arsenal by a point and fourth place United by two points. Liverpool are fifth with 54 points.
Liverpool suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester United and the latest set of results has put a dent on the Merseyside club’s chances of qualifying for the next season’s Champions League.
A defeat for Liverpool against Arsenal will be a massive blow for the Reds and potentially end their hope of finishing in top four. They will be without several key players for the upcoming clash.
Captain Steven Gerrard and defender Martin Skrtel are likely to miss three matches, which includes two Premier League fixtures and a FA Cup replay against Blackburn Rovers. Daniel Sturridge, Adam Lallana and Simon Mignolet have all suffered i juries after United defeat.
With suspension and injuries, it could be a massive blow for Liverpool in their bid to finish the season in top four. In addition to this, Arsenal’s trio of injured players returning from injury will only add to the ongoing misery at Anfield.
