Despite looking like he was suffering from a head injury, Tagovailoa returned with his teammates at the start of Q3.
After the game the player and coach, Mike McDaniel spoke to the media about this injury.
They both confirmed the quarterback sustained a back injury and passed the concussion protocol.
Tua said after the game he felt like he hyperextended his back, rather than any head injury. He reiterated that his back was tight and sore after the game.
McDaniel told the media that: “When he hit his head on the ground, I assumed it was a head injury, but his legs got wobbly because his lower back was completely loose and as he described it, he said his lower back was like Gumby or something.”
Will Tua Tagovailoa Be Fit Enough To Play Thursday
With another important game Thursday, the Dolphins will be keen for their starting QB to be in action.
On the prospects of starting Thursday, Tua said: “That’s the plan.
“Doing everything I can to get back out there. So, hopefully, I can get out there and play.”
Tagovailoa was officially listed as limited in the team’s practice report estimation on Tuesday.
It looks like it will be a waiting game for the Dolphins fans and staff to see if their star man will be fit enough to play.
