Portugal suffered a drubbing 4-0 defeat against Germany in their opening game of the 2014 World Cup.

Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller’s hat-trick and Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels saw Joachim Low’s men seal a comfortable victory over Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal.

The game saw Real Madrid centre-back Pepe sent off for head butting Muller in the first half, while his club and country teammate Fabio Coentrao was stretchered off the field after he picked up a groin injury.

Football fans shared their views of the game on social networking site and we bring you some Twitter reaction from the tie between Germany and Portugal.
