Manchester United fans took on Twitter to express their joy as the Old Trafford club confirmed the signing of Ander Herrera from Athletic Bilbao.

The 24-year-old midfielder became the Red Devils’ first summer signing as they prepare for a new ear under the leadership of Louis van Gaal. The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager will take in charge of the role after stepping down from his post as the Holland manager, after completion for the World Cup campaign.

Herrera joins David de Gea and Juan Mata as the list of Spanish players at Old Trafford.
