Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed Francis Coquelin will join England international duo of Danny Welbeck and Jack Wilshere as the three players to miss the Gunners’ clash against Leicester City.

The Frenchman will take his men to the King Power Stadium on Saturday as the two teams will face each other in the Premier League clash. Coquelin was injured when his side took on Chelsea.

The former Manchester United forward went under the knife and is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Wilshere, on the other is also on the treatment table. The duo are joined by the French midfielder.

“He is progressing well, but he will not be available for Leicester. He has a scan today but the evolution is quite positive. He might start practice tomorrow. He has a little chance forTuesday, and a bigger chance for Man United. It is very difficult to be definite today,” Arsenal manager said.

“They are all doing well. Jack just had surgery so at the moment he cannot do anything. Danny is doing well, Tomas Rosicky as well. It was very successful and touch wood hopefully all goes well now.”

Mathieu Flamini has the hero for the Emirates club during their 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Capital One Cup third round clash. His brace helped Arsenal progress further in the competition at the expense of their north London rival.

The former AC Milan midfielder could feature in Coquelin’s absence as Wenger will be looking for more solidity in the centre of the park, which can be provided by Flamini rather than Mikel Arteta.

Meanwhile, last year’s summer signing Mathieu Debuchy has seen his team appearances limited. Injuries forced him to sit on the sidelines and Wenger gave chance to Hector Bellerin, who impressed in the right-back role.

The Spaniard is keeping the former Newcastle United defender on the bench. Wenger has urged his compatriot to fight with Bellerin for a place in the starting lineup.

“I think he has a big fight with Bellerin and he’s slowly coming back to his best. I believe that he’s mentally very strong and very committed, and he will slowly come back and give a hard time to Bellerin,” he added.
