West Ham fans react to Ross Barkley transfer link

Jan 6, 2025 8:22 PM

West Ham United fans have taken to Twitter to express their reaction to reports linking the club with a move for Ross Barkley this summer.

According to recent reports from 90min, the Hammers are in talks to sign the former Everton attacking midfielder.

Barkley, who joined the Blues from Everton in 2018, spent the last season on loan at Aston Villa, where he struggled with his fitness and form.

The 27-year-old has dropped down the pecking order at Chelsea, and he is clearly not in Thomas Tuchel’s first-team plans.

The England international is one of the several fringe players who could be offloaded this summer, and West Ham are looking to sign him from their London rivals.

Moyes previously worked with Barkley at Everton and got the best out of him. Another potential reunion cannot be completely ruled out.

Many West Ham fans have suggested that the club must trust Moyes’ decision on this matter.

They suggest he has earned that respect after guiding the Hammers to sixth in the Premier League last season.

If the boss wants him I am fine with it.

Like it, if Moyes rates him so do I.

At this point we just need to trust Moyes decisions. He has earned that right!

West Ham will be playing in Europe next season and they need depth and quality to their squad.

If they can get Barkley at a decent price, it could prove to be a smart business for all parties involved.

The Hammers are also keen to sign Jesse Lingard from Manchester United permanently.

However, it looks like the player has set his heart on staying at Old Trafford and fight for his place.
