Didier Deschamps watched his France squad end their pre-World Cup preparations in the best possible way last night, with Jamaica on the end of a resounding 8-0 thrashing.

Karim Benzema, Blaise Matuidi and rising star Antoine Griezmann all bagged braces against the Caribbean outfit, with former Newcastle man Yohan Cabaye and Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud completing the impressive scoreline.

With Franck Ribery ruled out the World Cup with a back injury, the stage is set for Real Sociedad winger Griezmann to live up to the hype, and so far he has not disappointed. On the score sheet again of the French, and he has now three goals from just four appearances for Deschamps side. His second of the night was the pick of the eight; a cute backheel slipped past Jamaica keeper Jacomeno Barrett to round off the scoring.

While Jamaica were not up to the challenge last night, there can be no better way to end a run of fixtures before a World Cup, and France will now travel to Brazil in the very highlest of spirits.

Arjen Robben loses his cool ahead of World Cup kickoff

While the French enjoyed a wonderful evening of last, the Dutch camp had to contend with a temper tantrum from one of their key players, with Arjen Robben taking exception to Feyenoord defender Bruno Martins Indi’s persistence in training yesterday.

During a training session led by Louis van Gaal, Robben was on the end of a few strong challenges from centre-back Martins Indi, with the winger going down in a heap on a number of occasions.

It was too many in the end for the Bayern Munich man, as Robben kicked out at his teammate in frustration near the makeshift touchline.

The former Chelsea man has often been accused of going to ground too easily, and that message was hammered home by the 22-year-old Martins Indi, who told a reporter after the incident,

“Arjen is a good dribbler. I thought he fell needlessly once. We had a little head-to-head.”

Fans left gobsmacked after FIFA allocate over half of tickets to World Cup opener to commercial partners and promoters.

In a move that will leave the majority of football lovers across the world retort in disgust, FIFA have left fans less than half of tickets to the eagerly anticipated World Cup opener, Brazil vs Croatia, with commercial partners, broadcasters, local organizers and hospitality programs given the clear majority.

The Daily Mail report that  just 25,630 tickets have been sold to the general public for the tournament opener on June 12th, which will be held in the 61,600 capacity Arena de Sao Paulo stadium.

Journalists, commercial affiliates, and FIFA VIPs are just some who have benefited from this allocation, with this just another example of the warped priorities in the footballing echelons of power.
